Anse Royale to Anse a la Mouche - An EASY graded walk through
a historical area of Mahe. Often passing small settlements and scattered
houses it allows you a glimpse of life away from the hustle and bustle
of Victoria. It will take you three to four hours to complete this walk
depending on which route you take and it is possible to visit an old chapel
and two cemeteries as well as some startling vegetation. Local buses are
available on completion of the walk.
.La Digue, La Pass to Grand
Anse - This stunning walk along some of La Digue’s unique and varied
scenery will take approximately two hours and is graded as EASY. The trail
can be followed on foot or by bicycle passing several old houses built
in the architectural style of the French colonial era before reaching some
woodlands, a marsh and the spectacular beach of Grand Anse. The return
journey leads you through a couple of villages and past the home of the
endemic Black Paradise Flycatcher.
Vallee de Mai National Park - The most famous of all the
walks in Seychelles takes you through an adventure of a lifetime amongst
some of the most unspoilt and rich tropical forest anywhere in the world.
Home to the famous Coco de Mere palm and it’s striking nut, this is a walk
that all visitors to Praslin should take. Graded as EASY it is a fascinating
walk through what many believe to be the original Garden of Eden. There
is a small fee payable to enter the park and walks can take forty five
minutes to two hours depending on which of the many routes you take.
There are several small guides to accompany these walks which have been
well written and will inform you of the flora and fauna that you can expect
to see along the way. They are available from The Ministry of Tourism and
